Materials: J & P Coats or Clarks O.N.T Mercerized Crochet, Size 20.
Small ball J & P Coats-4 balls of White or Ecru.
Clarks O.N.T-6 balls of White or Ecru.
Steel crochet hook No. 8.
Doily measures about 14 in.


Starting at center, Ch 8. Join with SLst to form ring.
First Rnd: 18 Sc in ring.
2nd and 3rd Rnds: Sc in each Sc around. SLst in next Sc.
4th Rnd: Ch 5,
* Dc in next Sc, Ch 2.
rep. from * around. Join last Ch-2 with SLst in 3rd Ch of starting chain.
5th Rnd: SLst in next sp, Ch 3, 2 Dc in same sp, 3 Dc in each sp around. Join.
6th Rnd: Ch 7,
* skip 2 Dc, Dc in next Dc, Ch 4.
rep. from * around. Join.
7th Rnd: SLst in next sp, Ch 3, in same sp make 2 Dc, Ch 3 and 3 Dc (shell made),
in each sp around make (1) shell of 3 Dc, Ch 3 and 3 Dc. Join.
8th Rnd: SLst in next 2 Dc and in sp, Ch 3, in same sp make 2 Dc, Ch 3 and 3 Dc (shell made over shell),
* Ch 1, shell over next shell.
rep. from * around. Join.
9th Rnd: Make shell over each shell around, having Ch 2 (instead of Ch-1) between shells. Join.
10th to 13th Rnds incl: Work shell over shell, having 1 Ch more between shells on each Rnd (Ch 6 on 13th Rnd).
14th Rnd:
* (Shell over shell, Ch 6) twice;
in next shell make 3 Dc, Ch 5 and 3 Dc, Ch 6.

15th Rnd:

18 Tr in Ch-5 sp of next shell (this is base of pineapple), Ch 6.

19th Rnd: Same as previous Rnd, having 15 (instead of 16) Ch-1 sps. Join.

First Pineapple
First Rnd: SLst in next 2 Dc, the next 3 Ch and the following 3 Dc, Ch 5, turn,
shell over shell, Ch 6, (Sc in next Ch-1 sp, Ch 1) 13 times;
Sc in next Ch-1 sp, Ch 6, shell over shell. Ch 5, turn.
2nd Rnd: Shell over shell, Ch 6, make 13 Ch-1 sps, Ch 6, shell over shell. Ch 5, turn.
Now work as for 2nd Rnd, making 1 sp less on each Rnd until 1 sp remains. Ch 5, turn.
Last Rnd: Shell over shell, Ch 6, Sc in sp, Ch 6, shell over shell, Ch 5, turn,
Sc in sp of last shell, Sc in sp of next shell. Tie off.

Second Pineapple
Attach yarn to next free shell and work next pineapple in same way. Complete all pineapples to correspond.
Edging: Attach yarn to any Ch-5 lp of (1) point, Ch 1, Sc in same lp,
* in next lp make Sc, (Ch 3, Sc in 3rd Ch from hook, Sc) 3 times;
Ch 1.
rep. from * to next Ch-6 lp, in Ch-6 lp make Sc, (Ch 3, Sc in 3rd Ch from hook, Sc) 5 times;
Ch 1, Sc in next Ch-5 lp.
Cont. thus around. Join and Tie off.
