GAUGE: 5 sps measure 1 inch; 5 rows measure 1 inch. Centerpiece measures about 30 inches in diameter. Starting at bottom of chart, Ch 32 First Rnd: Dc in 8th Ch from hook, (Ch 2, skip 2 Ch, Dc in next ch) 8 times. Ch 10, turn. 2nd Rnd: Dc in 8th Ch from hook, Ch 2, Dc in next Dc (2 sps increased at beg. of Rnd); Ch 2, Dc in next Dc (sp over sp made); (2 Dc in next sp, Dc in next Dc) 7 times (7 bls over 7 sps made); Ch 2, skip 2 sts of turning chain, Dc in next Ch, Ch 5, Dc in same place as last Dc; Ch 5, turn, Dc in 3rd st of previous Ch-5 (2 sps increased at end of Rnd). Ch 10, turn. 3rd Rnd: Dc in 8th Ch from hook, Ch 2, Dc in top of next Dc, Ch 2, Dc in base of same Dc, make 2 bls, Dc in next 21 Dc (7 bls over 7 bls made); make 2 bls, Ch 2, skip 2 sts of turning chain, Dc in next Ch, Ch 5, Dc in same place as last Dc; Ch 5, turn, Dc in 3rd st of previous Ch-5 (2 sps increased at each end of Rnd). Ch 46, turn. 4th Rnd: Dc in 8th Ch from hook, (Ch 2, skip 2 Ch, Dc in next ch) 12 times; Ch 2, Dc in top of next Dc, make 4 bls, (Ch 2, skip 2 Dc, Dc in next Dc) 9 times (9 sps over 9 bls made); make 3 bls, 2 Dc in next sp, Dc in 5th st of turning chain, Ch 5, Dc in same place as last Dc; Ch 5, turn, Dc in 3rd st of previous Ch-5 ) 13 times (14 sps increased at both ends of Rnd). Ch 10, turn. 5th Rnd: Inc 2 sps, make 6 bls, 6 sps, 4 bls, 3 sps, 7 bls, 3 sps, 4 bls, 6 sps, 6 bls, inc 2 sps. Ch 7, turn. 6th Rnd: Dc in top of next Dc, make 10 bls, 3 sps, 3 bls, 4 sps, 9 bls, 4 sps, 3 bls, 3 sps, 10 bls, Ch 5, Dc in same place as last Dc; turn, SLst to 3rd st of last Ch-5 (1 sp increased at both ends). Ch 7, turn. Note: Chart shows (1) quarter of design. To make second half of each Rnd, omit the center sp or bl, as the case may be, and follow chart back to the beg. of Rnd. Starting with 7th Rnd follow chart to the top. Reverse chart and, omitting last Rnd, follow chart back until the 79th Rnd has been completed. 80th Rnd: SLst across 2 Ch, SLst in next Dc, Ch 5 and follow chart across to last sp, do not work over last sp (1 sp decreased at both ends). Ch 5, turn. Now follow chart back to first Rnd. Do not fasten off but work Sc evenly around edge, keeping work flat. Break yarn. Starch lightly. |
