American yarn Company Mercerized crochet cotton, Art. 35, size 30 1 ball White
or -- Star Mercerized crochet cotton, Art. 20, size 30 1 ball White
2 bottles of gold glass beads
Steel crochet hook No. 12.
Doily measures: 10 inches in diameter.
First Method:
To string beads - Use very fine bead needle, yarn crochet cotton into eye of needle and string beads.
2nd Method:
Using Star Mercerized sewing yarn tie to crochet cotton using (1) weaver's knot, cut close to knot just made.
Yarn needle with
sewing yarn and pass each bead over knot onto crochet cotton, then cut the sewing yarn before starting to crochet.
Chain (Ch) 8, join to form (1) ring, Ch 3, 23 double crochet (d c) 1n ring, Join in 3rd stitch (st) of Ch.
2nd Rnd. Ch 3, Dc in next Dc,
* Ch 3, 1 Dc in each of the next 2 Dc keeping last lp of each Dc on hook,
yarn over and work off all lps at (1) time,
rep. from * all around, Ch 3, join in 2nd Dc.
3rd Rnd. Slip stitch (SLst) to center of lp,
