Clarks O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, size 50, 3 balls.
J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 50, 2 balls.
J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, size 50, 1 ball.
Steel crochet hook No. 13.
Doily measures about 12 1/2 inches in diameter.
First Motif.
Starting at center, Ch 2.
First Rnd: 8 Sc in 2nd Ch from hook. Hereafter pick up only the back lp of each Sc.
2nd Rnd: 2 Sc in each Sc around.
3rd Rnd: Sc in each Sc around.
4th Rnd: and 5th Rnd: Sc in first Sc,
* 2 Sc in next Sc, Sc in next Sc.
rep. from * around until there are 36 Sc in the rnd.
6th Rnd:
* Ch 8, SLst in 5th Ch from hook (lp made).
rep. from * once more. Then Ch 3, skip 2 Sc, Sc in next Sc.
Cont. in this way around (12 Picot-lps).
Join last Picot-lp with SLst to base of first Picot-lp made. Tie off.
Attach yarn at center of first Picot-lp and work as for 6th Rnd,
but making Sc in center of each lp (instead of in Sc). Tie off.
Second Motif.
Work as for first motif to 5th Rnd incl. Then join to first motif as follows:
6th Rnd:
* Ch 8, picot, Ch 2, Sc in center of Picot-lp of first, motif, Ch 7, picot, Ch 2,
skip 2 Sc on second motif, Sc in next Sc.
rep. from * once more, and complete rnd as 6th Rnd of first motif was completed. Tie off.
Third Motif.
Work as before to 5th Rnd incl.
Then join first 2 lps to next 2 lps of first motif as second motif was joined to first.
Ch 8, picot, Ch 6, SLst in center of Picot-lp on second motif (next to joining), turn.
Work 8 Sc over Ch-6 just made, Ch 6, picot, Ch 2, skip 2 Sc of third motif,
Sc in next Sc, Ch 8, picot, Ch 8, SLst in next lp of second motif, turn.
