Tension: 3 ½ sps and 3 ½ rows = 1 in.
Measurements: Centerpiece = 9 in. x 15 in. Small Mat = 7 in. in diameter.
CENTRE PIECE
Commence with 35 Ch.
first Rnd: 1 Tr into 11th Ch from hook,
* 3 Ch, skip 3 Ch, 1 Tr into next Ch;
rep. from * 5 times more (7 sps), 14 Ch, turn.
2nd Rnd: 1 Tr into 11th Ch from hook, 3 Ch, skip 3 Ch, 1 Tr into next Tr (2 extension sps made), (3 Ch, 1 Tr into next Tr) twice,
(3 Tr into next sp, 1 Tr into next Tr) 3 times,
1 sp, 3 Ch, skip 3 Ch, 1 Tr into next turning Ch, 7 Ch, 1 Tr into same place as last Tr, 7 Ch, turn,
1 Tr into 4th of previous 7 Ch (2 extension sps made), 14 Ch.
Follow diagram ‘A’ from 3rd to 17th Rnd, 10 Ch, turn.
18th Rnd: 1 Tr into first Tr, 2 sps, 1block, 8 sps, 4 Ch, 1 Dc into next Tr, 4 Ch, 1 Tr into next Tr (mesh made),
3 sps, 1 mesh, 8 sps, 1block, 2 sps, 1 extension sp, turn,
1 SLst into each of first 5 sts, 7 Ch. 19th Rnd: 12 sps, 7 Ch, skip 4 Ch 1 Dc and 4 Ch, 1 Tr into next Tr (bar made over mesh),
3 sps, 1 bar, 12 sps, 7ch, turn.
Follow diagram ‘A’ from 20th Rnd to top, turn diagram,
1 SLst into each of first 5 sts and work back from 17th Rnd to first Rnd decreasing sps instead of increasing, Break yarn.
SMALL MAT (make 2)
Commence with 35 Ch and follow diagram ‘B’ from first Rnd to top
then turn diagram and work back from 9th Rnd to first Rnd decreasing sps instead of increasing. Break yarn.
