Pistil:
First Rnd: With yellow embroider cotton, Ch 8, Dc in 4^th st from hook, 1 Dc in each of the next 4 sts of Ch, Ch 3, turn.
2^nd Rnd: 1 Dc in each Dc, Ch 3, turn.
Rep. the last Rnd twice.
Next Rnd: Decrease 1 Dc at beg. and end of Rnd (to decrease:
*yarn over hook, insert in next st, pull through and work off 2 lps,
rep. from * once,
yarn over and work off all lps at (1) time), Ch 3, turn.
Next Rnd: 1 Dc on each of the next 3 sts keeping last lp of each Dc on hook,
yarn over and work off all lps at (1) time,
cut yarn leaving a long end.

Yarn into needle and sew the 2 sides together having point at top.
Sew in position to center of lily having point at point of lily and sewing the point to top of 4^th Rnd.
With inside of lily toward you fold right hand side at lower edge over the pistil then fold left hand side over the opposite way and
sew to hold in position. Work 7 more lilies in same way.

Directions for Starching:
Pin center and outer edge of doily in position according to size.
Pull folds of ruffle in position. Place (1) lily in every 4^th fold of ruffle as in photo and leave until thoroughly dry.
Lilies can be sewn in position if desired.
