women's cardigan or sweater pattern image for ;  raglan shoulders, round crew neck cardigan

Raglan sleeves guarantee easy-moving comfort. Tip; fisherman's rib has been one of the favorite stitches for generations.

raglan shoulders, round crew neck cardigan

What's so great about a cardigan ? It is easy to take off and put on, and you can wear it opened or closes or halfway in between.
So you are never too hot or too cold. A cardigan looks more interesting than a sweater, because there are zippers or buttons on
the fronts. The buttonbands can be problematic if you pick up too few stitches or bind off to tightly, after finishing the fronts.
To avoid this you can knit the buttonband and buttonhole-band the same time as the rest of the fronts.
Just add the stitches for the buttonbands to the left and right front, and knit these stitches in rib stitch or any other stitch.
Don't forget to create buttonholes at one side ! I love to knit my cardigans this way.

Tips for my basic knitting patterns

1 First you knit your knitting swatch, if you want to knit in a fantasy pattern, knit your swatch in this stitch,
2 then determine your gauge, now you can choose a knitting pattern with the right gauge, this way it will always fit,
3 no need for special yarns or needles size, you decide which yarn you use and which gauge you use, so easy.

You can use any knitting stitch and knit with any knitting yarn you like, if it has a similar gauge.
Needle size is not so important, every knitter knits differently. When you are looking at a pattern,
it is the gauge or tension swatch that really matters. This is the base for all my basic knitting patterns.

You can’t cast off more than 1 stitch, at the end of the row, so if the pattern says; Dec 2 st at each end of every alternate row,
it means; Cast off 2 stitches, knit to end of row ( or round ), turn and cast off 2 stitches, knit to end of row.
