De puntkraag

Zet bij het breien van het voorpand de steken van de beleggen op veiligheidspelden. Neem met 3 naalden zonder knop alle steken rondom de hals op. Met de steken van de horizontale bovenkant van de beleggen.

Pointed collar

Pick up stitches with double pointed needles, from neck side. Including stitches from top of the bands.

Brei op die steken in de door u gewenste steek en meerder aan weerszijden in elke 2e naald 1 steek. Laat de meerderingen vallen op bijvoorbeeld 2 steken van de buitenkant van de kraag.

Knit rib or other stitch and increase at both sides every 2nd row 1 stitch. The increased stitches are on the outside of the collar, 2 stitches before the edge. 

De sjaalkraag

Kant voor een sjaalkraag bij een trui de middelste 10 steken van het voorpand af. En minder dan geleidelijk de resterende steken aan de halskant. Brei voor de kraag een rechte strook die even lang is als de halsuitsnijding en zet die in de halsuitsnijding. Met het ene einde net over het andere heen.

Shawl collar

Cast off the center 10 stitches of the front. Decrease evenly at the neck side. Knit for collar a rectangle piece as long as neck opening. Sew collar into place, one piece slightly over the other. As illustrated.

Apart gebreide sjaalkraag

Het beleg en de halve sjaalkraag worden op 2 aparte naalden gebreid. En later in de halsopening genaaid. Zet een aantal steken op ter lengte van het beleg plus de halve kraag en brei hierop boordpatroon. Na 5 cm kant u ongeveer 2/3 van het aantal steken af. Daarna elke 2e naald 4 steken. Tot u nog 6 steken over hebt. Deze kant u in 1 keer af. In het rechter gedeelte breit u tevens knoopsgaten.

Shawl collar knitted in 2 parts

The shawl collar is knitted in 2 parts and on 2 needles. Sewed when finished in neck opening. Cast on stitches half of length of collar, and knit rib. After 5 cm cast off 2/3 of the stitches, then every 2nd row 4 stitches, when there are 6 stitches left, cast off all remaining stitches. Knit second part with buttonholes.

when the row, where the collar has to fold, is knitted with larger needles, just one row, it will fold automatically at that row.

Kraag aan het voorpand gebreid

Neem bij het begin van de halsuitsnijding om de 4 naalden 1 steek van het voorpand af en brei die in een boordpatroon of ribbelsteek. Aan de tegenoverliggende kant wordt elke 4e naald 1 steek gemeerderd. Brei na het afkanten de kraag tot middenachter.

Collar knitted on front

jewel necklines (circular)
pass around the base of the neck on all sides. Also called the T-shirt neckline.

scoop necklines (curved, concave up)
have a curved U shape, where the arms of the U pass over the shoulders. Scoop necklines can be demure or plunging, depending on the depth of the U.

boat necklines (one edge, nearly linear)
are necklines with a broad opening, but which pass nearly horizontally across the figure near the collarbones. Also called bateau necklines or Sabrina necklines. off-the-shoulder necklines (one edge, nearly linear)
are similar to boat necklines in that they generally cut across the figure nearly horizontally, but significantly lower, below the shoulders and collar bone. Such neckline usually pass over the arms but, in the strapless neckline, may pass under the arms. These necklines accentuate the shoulders and neck of the wearer.

one-shoulder necklines (one edge, nearly linear)

asymmetrical linear necklines that cut across the torso diagonally, usually from one shoulder to under the other arm.

halter necklines (linear, side edges converge on neck)
feature a high neck with deep, raglan-type armholes or else two straps from the bodice that meet at the back of the neck. In both cases, they form diagonal lines that converge inwards to the neck from the sides. Although such necklines reveal a lot of shoulder, their convergence makes the shoulders seem smaller. Halter necklines can have a horizontal bottom edge, or their two side edges can meet in a V.

V necklines (2-4 linear edges, side edges diverge)
are formed by two diagonal lines from the shoulder that meet on the chest. These necklines can be demure or plunging, depending on the depth of the V. The surplice version of this neckline (known as a portrait neckline) is a pretty alternative. The V may also be truncated by a small bottom edge, forming a trapezoid.

square necklines (linear side edges neither converge nor diverge)
are characterized by three linear edges, the bottom edge meeting the side edges at right angles. The bottom edge cuts across the figure horizontally and the side edges pass over the shoulders. A special case of this is the slot neckline, in which the side edges are very close (roughly the width of the collar-bone points), forming a narrow slot.

sweetheart necklines (side edges linear, curved bottom edge concave down)
has a curved bottom edge that is concave down and usually doubly scalloped to resemble the top half of a heart. The side edges often converge on the neck, similar to halter necklines. Sweetheart necklines are good for accentuating the bosom.

keyhole necklines
are akin to halter necklines, but the converging diagonal lines meet in front of the neck, forming a "keyhole". More generally, a neckline that features a central hole, usually just below the collar bones. These necklines are seen infrequently.
