Tips for my basic knitting patterns |

|
1 First you knit your knitting swatch, if you want to knit in a
fantasy stitch pattern, knit your swatch in that stitch pattern,
2 then determine your gauge, now you can choose a knitting pattern with the right gauge, this way it will always fit, 3 no need for special yarns or needles size, you decide which yarn you use and which gauge you use, so easy.

Dec 4 stitches evenly across the last row (48 stitches remaining). 4. Hem. Change to size 3 needles. knit 22 rows in K1P1 ribbing. Cast off remaining stitches loosely. BUTTON BAND / COLLAR: -- knitted in two pieces. ( Or knit button band and buttonhole band together in one piece on circular needles ). 1. Start with left front for girls/women, right front for boys/men. Using size 3 needles pick up and knit 282 stitches (approximately 9 stitches for each 10 rows along cardigan front) between bottom of hem and center of back of neck. 2. knit in 1x1 ribbing for 18 rows. Cast off loosely. Fold band to inside and sew cast-off edge to back of picked up stitches. 3. Mark positions for 8 buttons, the first one 0,5 ins above the band bottom, the last one where the V-neck shaping begins. The rest should be evenly spaced between these two, approximately 3,5 ins apart. BUTTONHOLE BAND: 1. knit buttonhole band as for button band, knitting buttonholes at the marked positions. 2. Sew buttons at marked positions on the button band, being careful to align buttons with buttonholes. FINISHING: 1.
