Tips for my basic knitting patterns

1 First you knit your knitting swatch, if you want to knit in a fantasy stitch pattern, knit your swatch in that stitch pattern,
2 then determine your gauge, now you can choose a knitting pattern with the right gauge, this way it will always fit,
3 no need for special yarns or needles size, you decide which yarn you use and which gauge you use, so easy.

Tips for regular inch increments
17.7 = 17.75 = 17 3/4 inches. 18,8 = 18.75 = 18 3/4 inches. 9.9 = 10 inches and so on.
Knowing this will make it easy to just round up or down as they are such small increments.

3. Armhole shaping. Cast off 4 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of every alternate row for 18
rows until 61 stitches remaining. Continue until armhole measures 8,7 ins (48 rows), with 61 stitches remaining.
4. Shoulder shaping. Cast off 5 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows. Cast off 6 stitches at beginning of following 4 rows. AT
THE SAME TIME, when armhole measures 9,1 ins (50 rows), start neck shaping.
5. Shape neck. Slip the center 23 stitches to a holder. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row twice.

FRONT: Cardigan right side knitted first.
1. Cast on 44 stitches on size 6 needles and use Stocking Stitch.

3. Armhole. Dec for armhole at left end, as for back. AT THE SAME TIME,

6. Shoulder shaping. Cast off as for back.
7. Left cardigan front. knit as for right side, reversing shapings.

SLEEVES:
1. Cast on 36 stitches on size 6 needles and use Stocking Stitch.
2. Inc 1 st at each end of every 9th row 5 times, then every 10th row 4 times to 54 stitches (85 rows total).
3. knit even until sleeve measures 17,0 ins (94 rows).
4. Shape cap. Cast off 4 stitches at beg of next two rows (46 stitches rem). Dec 1 st at each end of every 2nd row twice, then
dec 1 st at each end of every 3rd row 12 times, then dec 1 st at each end of every 2nd row once. Cast off remaining
16 stitches loosely.

SHOULDER SEAMS:
1. Sew fronts to back along shoulder seams.

V FRONT NECK SINGLE BAND COLLAR:
--- by hand on size 5 needles.
1. With right side of knit facing, pick up and knit 41 stitches from right front neck edge, 3 stitches from right back neck edge,
23 stitches from back neck holder, 3 stitches from left back neck edge, , 41 stitches from left front neck edge. Total 111 stitches.
2. knit 1,0 ins (8 rows) in K1P1 ribbing.
3. Cast off loosely.

FINISHING:
1. Sew sleeve top to armhole, easing to fit. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew any remaining seams.
2. Finish open edges of cardigan fronts; some suggestions are: crochet edging, I-cord, zipper.
3. Darn/weave/sew in all loose ends.
