Tips for my basic knitting patterns

1 First you knit your knitting swatch, if you want to knit in a fantasy pattern, knit your swatch in this stitch,
2 then determine your gauge, now you can choose a knitting pattern with the right gauge, this way it will always fit,
3 no need for special yarns or needles size, you decide which yarn you use and which gauge you use, so easy.

Tips for regular inch increments
17.7 = 17.75 = 17 3/4 inches. 18,8 = 18.75 = 18 3/4 inches. 9.9 = 10 inches and so on.
Knowing this will make it easy to just round up or down as they are such small increments.

2. Change to size 4.5 needles and Stocking Stitch. knit even until piece measures 11,9 ins (86 rows), excluding hem.
3. Armhole shaping. Cast off 6 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of every alternate row for 24
rows until 83 stitches remaining. Continue until armhole measures 8,6 ins (62 rows), with 83 stitches remaining.
4. Shape neck. knit both sides at the same time. knit 26 stitches. Slip the next 31 stitches to a holder.
Now attach another ball of yarn and continue across second half of stitches, and
knit remaining 26 stitches. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 4 times, until 22 stitches remain.
5. At the same time, when armhole measures 8,8 ins (row 64), start shoulder shaping.
6. Shoulder shaping. Cast off 11 stitches at armhole edge twice.

FRONT:
1-2 Follow steps 1 and 2 as for back.
3. Armhole. Dec for armhole at both ends, as for back. Continue until armhole measures 5,2 ins (38 rows), with 83 stitches remaining.
4. Shape neck. knit both sides at the same time. knit 32 stitches. Slip the next 19 stitches to a holder.
Now attach another ball of yarn and continue across second half of stitches, and
knit remaining 32 stitches. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 10 times, until 22 stitches remain.
5. knit even until armhole measures 8,8 ins (64 rows).
6. Shoulder shaping. Cast off as for back.

SLEEVES:
1. Cast on 44 stitches on size 3.5 needles. knit in K1P1 ribbing for 2,3 ins. Inc 5 stitches evenly across the row to 49 stitches total.
2. Change to size 4.5 needles and Stocking Stitch.
3. Inc 1 st at each end of every 6th row 10 times, then every 7th row 6 times to 81 stitches (102 rows total, excluding hem).
4. knit even until sleeve measures 14,7 ins (108 rows), excluding hem.
5. Shape cap. Cast off 6 stitches at beg of next two rows (69 stitches rem). Dec 1 st at each end of every 2nd row 11 times, then
dec 1 st at each end of every 3rd row twice, then dec 1 st at each end of every 2nd row 10 times. Cast off
remaining 23 stitches loosely.

LEFT SHOULDER SEAM:
1. Sew front to back along left shoulder seam.

ROUND (CREW) FRONT NECK SINGLE BAND COLLAR:
