| HOW TO MAKE POMPONS Cut 2 cardboard disks 2,75 inches 3 inches {4 inches in diameter (fig. 1). Cut out hole in center of both. the larger the hole, the more yarn you will be able to wind around and the thicker will be your pompon. Place disks together and make a slit to facilitate the winding of the yarn. Cover with yarn, passing the yarn, each time through the slit (fig. 2). When the central hole is almost filled with yarn, thread needle to continue. Slip the tip of the scissors between the disks and cut all the strands at outside edge (fig. 3). To tie the cut strands. draw 2 or 3 strands of yarn between the disks and wind several times very tightly around yarn and knot 2 or 3 times, leaving ends for attaching pompon (fig. 4). Remove the disks; trim the ends; fluff out the pompon by fraying the ends with a pin. |
