BRIM. knit 7 rows in ribbing or pattern stitch of choice. DECREASE from bottom to top of hat as follows: Rounds 1 to 13: knit even on 45 stitches. Round 14: Dec 11 stitches evenly across the row to total 34 stitches. (* [K3, K2tog] once, then [K2, K2tog] 10 times * once.) Round 15: knit even on 34 stitches. Round 16: Dec 6 stitches evenly across the row to total 28 stitches. (* [K4, K2tog] twice, then [K3, K2tog] once * twice.) Round 17: knit even on 28 stitches. Round 18: Dec 7 stitches evenly across the row to total 21 stitches. ([K2, K2tog] 7 times.) Round 19: knit even on 21 stitches. Round 20: Dec 7 stitches evenly across the row to total 14 stitches. ([K1, K2tog] 7 times.) Round 21: knit even on 14 stitches. Round 22: Dec 8 stitches evenly across the row to total 6 stitches. (K2tog 4 times, then K3tog twice.) Round 23: knit even on 6 stitches.
