START. Cast on 100 sts. Join to form a circle, taking care not to twist the sts.
BRIM. Work 10 rows in ribbing or pattern stitch of choice.
DECREASE from bottom to top of hat as follows:
Rounds 1 to 24: Work even on 100 sts.
Round 25: Dec 14 sts evenly across the row to total 86 sts.
(* [K6, K2tog] once, then [K5, K2tog] 6 times * twice.)
Rounds 26 to 30: Work even on 86 sts.
Round 31: Dec 13 sts evenly across the row to total 73 sts.
