Waste yarn and left over yarns

Sl1, K1, PSSO (sometimes abbreviated as SKP) is a left slanting decrease.
Slip one stitch as if to knit.
Knit the next stitch.
Insert left needle into front of slipped stitch on right needle.
Pass the slipped stitch over the knit stitch and off the right needle.
Be sure to slip as if you were going to knit, not purl, the stitch.

When there are 12 st. remaining, pull thread through the stitches

Sew side seam at wrong side and brim at right side

Knit tail with greyish Brown yarn
Cast on 20 st. and knit 5 rows, tail will roll by it self

Sew mouse head on hat; embroider the ears, nose and eyes, and a few stitches for
body

worsted weight yarn

Gauge:
about 4 stitches per inch

Instructions:
Cast on 48 stitches (16 stitches on each needle); be careful that stitches are not twisted. Join and
knit all stitches until hat measures 4 inches from cast on edge (unroll brim if needed to
measure).

Start Decreases:
Round 1: *knit 6 stitches, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over (psso), repeat from * around
Round 2 (and all even rounds): knit all stitches
Round 3: *knit 5 stitches, slip 1, knit 1, psso, repeat from * around
Round 5: *knit 4 stitches, slip 1, knit 1, psso, repeat from * around
Round 7: *knit 3 stitches, slip 1, knit 1, psso, repeat from * around
Round 9: *knit 2 stitches, slip 1, knit 1, psso, repeat from * around
Round 11: *knit 1 st, slip 1, knit 1, psso, repeat from * around
Round 13: slip 1, knit 1, psso, repeat from * around
Next 4-5 rounds: knit all stitches

Thread yarn through remaining stitches, pull tight and secure yarn end inside hat.
