I just wanted to say thank you for coming up with a Nordic pattern that saved me from ripping out a hat I started. I guess counting when my
kids are talking to me just doesn't work...lol. I have received many nice compliments on the hat with your pattern in it. Here is the finished
hat. You can use the photos if you want no problem! take care and have a great day, I love your site! Sincerely, Lisa Carroll in Alaska

I have been to thousands of pattern sites over the last 16 years online and am always looking for sites that have lots of patterns in
different ways to make them in one place. I would love to put this link on my yarn/pattern/craft store www.crazyanything.com. I am so excited
to be using several of these patterns. I also love offering links to patterns that are made with a particular yarn I sell. Thanks again I love
your site! Carrie Nelson |
Evening, I just wanted to say thank you. Although I've not had time to even look into 1/3 of what you'd done here. I am & will be looking

Hi Jessica,
Your website is incredible and I appreciate the patterns and colour charts tremendously. Thanks again, Conor from Brussel |
Hello Jessica,
Thank you so very much for all of your work assembling the information and patterns on your website. The amount of information is astounding.
Here's a photo/link to a ravelry page with a set of fingerless gloves, my first stranded color work and also first hand covering. I used one
of the patterns from your site for the color work. They are now happily at home on the hands of my friend Armen, keeping his hands toasty and
fingers free.
http://www.ravelry.com/projects/oregonrobin/fair-isle-color-charts
I have also just learned about Selbuvotter, and since I now live in Seattle, can go look at a very large collection of mittens and gloves at
the Nordic Heritage Museum. Terry Shea wrote a book recently chronicling the history of Selbuvotter patterns, recreating many of these
traditional black and white gorgeous designs.
Yummy! Cheers, Robin (my mother's maiden name is Prinsen, from the Netherlands)

Dear Jessica,
I just had to write after looking around the whole site; thank you so much for the patterns, your expertise and inspiring ideas! The site well
reflects that you truly love the needle arts (crochet, knitting, embroidery)! It has that special touch and sparkle that only appears when you
really enjoy from the heart what you do! It is a very kind gift much appreciated. Thank you again Sakia >^-^< Philadelphia, PA United

Thank you Jessica, I too have been knitting and crocheting for over 40 years but I'm not as good as you that's is for sure I just wanted to

all your site now but have made a note of your site will come back very often, again you are wonderful to do this for free, don't know how you

knees, you know cats and wool hee hee anyway enough talk, I cannot thank you enough. Bye for now and take care. Diane Reid-Lapointe |
Hi Jessica
I don’t have a question, but am absolutely wrapped in your site….It is
FANTASTIC from an amateur knitter like myself I have found your tips and
patterns a mindboggling resource centre.

Wow! what a wonderful site you've created, Thank for sharing :) Charlie, Shrewsbury England |
Hi Jessica
Thanks for sharing all the amazing info on your website. I'm relatively new to stranded knitting and you have so many wonderful resources to
share.
You said on your site you don't want people to sell your patterns (fair enough!). I made a hat that uses one of your cute little charts - the
elephants - and was wondering if it was ok with you if I wrote up the hat pattern for free for other people to use as well? I'm not a
professional knitwear designer, I've just written patterns for a few of the things I've made to share with other people, as a thankyou for all
the free resources I've used while learning to knit over the last 5 years. The internet has been such a great learning tool for someone like
me who doesn't know many people who knit in the real world. I've attached a few pics of the little hat - hope your spam filter doesn't eat
them :) kind regards Jude

Thank you very much for creating such an informative site. I have been struggling with working on my Brother punchcard knitting machine for
about 3 years. I think I have a much clearer vision in being able to knit something other than a scarf. Thank you again, Chris R.

Hi Jessica, I love you site with all type of sewing to do. I sew and cross stitch. I'm from US I live in Schertz, Texas. I'm having a little
problem opening patterns to print. Thank you pamela MAY YOUR DAY BE A WONDERFUL DAY! |
Dear Jessica
I was looking for some cable patterns to include in a rather plain basic hooded cardigan when I found your site.
Thank you for putting together one of the best craft sites I have found in a long time. I just wanted to say that I think it is a great site
and I can’t wait to explore it in more detail. I wish you continued success.
Thank you again for such a great site Sincerely Kim Wallace Australia |

Absolutely love your website! I’ve knitted for many years and have gathered tidbits from lots of websites but have never found one so totally
perfect. Tons of information that I can actually use every day. Big thank you from the United States! Karen Zander

I was introduced to this site today via a post on the Tunisian crochet yahoo group and have just started to poke around. What an awesome site!
You have inspired me to actually consider crocheting a garment rather than just afghans and other articles in which the size is not as
critical. I may even dare to pick up knitting again. Thank you for sharing your wealth of information. It is a wonderful site and well
organized. Gwen – New York, USA |

most AWESOME website and fabulous resource!! hats off to you for all the work you've done to make it that way. I stumbled on your site in
search of crochet/knit patterns. My ancestry is Dutch, family members having relocated to Canada in the 1920's. Thank you so much for making
this resource available. From Lenore, a fellow yarn-addict in northern British Columbia, Canada |
Hello Jessica,
I am not going to take too much of your time, but felt strongly I wanted to say thank you, your site is a credit to your enjoyment of crafts
and your willingness to share. It is now my little place of web heaven, and although it took you 4 years, I hope that it doesn’t take me as
long to enjoy each section...because that is my aim. I wish I could tell you how much pleasure and how much I have learnt already...I make
myself a cup of tea and chat to my ‘new friend’ as I read through your years and years of research, experimentation and just general pleasant
chat.
So thank you again, I am fired up and very inspired and will hopefully in time share my efforts. As an interesting side note, I wonder have
you not thought about writing a section of software/applications used for crafts? I am starting to blog my ideas and findings but just thought
you have been so precise with your efforts...I was surprised not to see...but I haven’t finished looking! God Bless Jacqui

much. It was just what I was looking for -- you're the BOMB.

Hi Jessica,
Thank you so much for your web site. It is an absolute joy. Since I discovered it I have been visiting the crochet pages several times a day
just in case I have missed something !
I love the multi colored flower close-ups on page 65 and am about to begin experimenting with some fabulous Barroco yarn. One is in delicious
shades of aqua and lilac, the other in lots of different shades of green. I haven't been able to find a large enough flower motif anywhere in
books or on the web so I have printed off the pictures of the vests and am using a magnifying glass and lots of trial and error until
(hopefully) I stumble across the way to create what I want. Once again, thank you so much for all of the inspiration. With my very kindest
regards, Carol |
Hello Jessica,
My name is Julie but everyone has always called me Jules, I live in Oklahoma, USA. My family on my mother's side is from Belgium and our Great
Grand Mother is originally from the Netherlands so when I found the patterns for the Fair Isle patterns I was very excited. I learned to knit
as a very young girl but want to learn how to make more complicated and lacy designs. I also crochet, paint and sketch. You have a wonderful
website. You are so talented. Thank you for taking the time to make so much information available. Take care, Jules |
Hello Jessica!
I don´t want to ask anything, only thank you for a FANTASTIC collection of work. I have never seen anything like this! I can imagine
that you are great teacher....I´m very interested in crochet, and I learn something new every day from your instructions. Thank you very much!
Best regards Yvonne |
I just wanted to tell you how WONDERFUL your website is – I am addicted now….about to create my first Norwegian-inspired pattern to make a
blanket for my great-nephew using your colour charts.
Thank you so much - Katherine Z. |
Hello Jessica,
I just stumbled upon your site this morning. I've only been knitting for 30 years (or so) and have rarely come across such a wealth of
knowledge of knitting short of a library or Ravelry. As I've been thinking of knitting colorwork again your site was invaluable (I found a
substitute pattern that looks like books to me!). Thank you so much for the hours upon hours you must devote to it and the warmth that
emanates from it. With warmest regards, Melissa G. |

You are just precious for sharing all the great info. I absolutely fell in love with your site. It would be awesome to spent just one hour
with you and watching a mater mind at work. Thank you again, Shirley Georgia, USA |
Dear Jessica :)
I just love your website! I am Polish living in Canada for almost 20 years now and I am married to a Dutchman :) My mom taught me how to knit
, crochet and embroider when I was a girl but I haven't done it for nearly 15 years. One of the girls from work gave me lots of scrap
yarn and I am looking for an idea how to use it. I am planning to make an afghan and I think I am going to use one of the "lace" patterns from
your site. Thank you very much for all the information. I was looking for 2 weeks for that. I have books in English but sometimes it is hard
for me to understand the meaning of knitting processes from the descriptions. And you made is so easy to understand with putting simple
descriptions and diagrams beside the samples. Thank you so much !!!
I am hoping to return to your website for more patterns and tips not only for knitting but also for crocheting and embroidery. I hope it is
all well with you. Again, a great thank you !!! Blessings to you for 2010 Jessica! - Janina- |

Hi Jessica- thank you, thank you, thank you! Your website is amazing! My husband decided last week that I should knit him a Norwegian sweater
(I had no idea he liked them!) so I did some research and found your website. I have done many Lopi's and am designing a Norwegian just for
him. Your information will help me to chart my design. I will send pictures when I complete the project ( in about 5 years, no doubt!!!!!) But
your site is a great help...thanks! Sharyn Toronto, Ontario, Canada |
Hi,
My name is Maria Duran; I live in Martinez, CA, USA. I was born in Mexico. I recently took crochet as a hobby and to make items for my now 10
month old baby. I really appreciate your generosity in giving all this information that others want to sell. I will cherish the knowledge that
you provided to me through your website. Thank you! |
Hello Jessica
Hiermit möchte ich einen großen Dank an Sie schicken, für Ihre großartige Arbeit die Sie mit so viel Liebe, Schweiß und Kosten gemacht haben.

Hello Jessica What a generous and lovely person you are! Thank you. June. |
Hi Jessica, I just had to say hi. I am also the daughter of a Dutch man and an English woman. I grew up in Holland but am now living in England. I love your site and am always inspired by it. I like your comments about flowers: I also can't get enough of flowers. I think you will like Sasha Kagan's designs. I have knitted two of her cardigans already. I am now knitting a little sweater for my brother's baby son,
which will have a line of elephants on it from your design, because he is just crazy about zoo animals. Thanks again for such a great resource and I hope you keep knitting forever! Annemieke |
Hello! I live in the USA (New York) and am another fellow addicted knitter. I also crochet too. My Hungarian grandmother taught me when I was 8. I just wanted to thank you so much for your wonderful website. It is one of my favorites! So many beautiful things! You are such a generous person to take so much time and work to do this all for free. So I just wanted to tell you that. Thank You and God bless you! Donna

Was ich sehr schade finde. Viele Grüße aus Berlin und danke für neue Ideen. Heike Hommel |
Hello, Your site is a treasure of information for knitting, charts, patterns, name it, it's there ! Keep up the good work. Lucie, Montréal, Canada. Lucie Levac |
Hello Jessica! Whenever I need inspiration for my next project, I always come to your website. I am very grateful that there is such a place to access free patterns and ideas and new methods. I want to make every project, but there is never enough time. I have attached a photo of myself wearing a tunic which I made a few years ago with help from your postings. The tunic
went to the South Pacific from Central Canada without me when I loaned it to a friend for her vacation cruise. I get many complements and it is a conversation piece when people ask me how I made it. Thanks again for your wonderful site. Isabel Sutton |
|
Like so many others before me I only write to say THANK YOU! I have been searching for an acceptable Fair Isle pattern to make Christmas stockings. Somehow I stumbled on your site and I found 10 BEAUTIFUL ones so far! I only need to make 2 stockings! Thank you for sharing! Jessica , Michigan-USA |
Dear Mrs. Tromp, This is not a question, only a thank you. I have just begun to explore your website. What an astonishing gift for knitters (and crocheters - something I have not yet learned)! It is such a great pleasure to wander through your pages to discover the many great and unexpected treasures. For example, I have just discovered Japanese lace and cable patterns and own one Japanese stitch pattern book.
Many of these are undeciphered mysteries. They were also undecipherable, until I found your wonderful lessons. And now, astonishingly I have become psychic! I can see my future. It is all so clear. I can see that I have many happy hours ahead of me, playing among your pages! Thank you again. Sincerely, Linda, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada |
Hi Jessica What a great website. I have been searching for a dog knit pattern for my standard poodle and voila found one on your website, it's just perfect! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. Regards Angela, Adelaide South Australia. |
Kia Ora from New Zealand Jessica, May God bless you over and over for your wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable, informative and totally amazing site. You truly are a wonderful person to share with us all who have discovered your site. I have used your charts previously and always come back to look for something new to make. If I need help with a pattern I know I will find the answer on your site. Thank you again
and God Bless You for your time and effort in developing your site. Yours forever grateful, Robyn |
Hi Jessica I am a keen knitter and a keen HD biker at the same time. I have really enjoyed the HD sweaters and it inspired me to knit the HD motives of my tattoo and turn it into a piece of knitwork! Even the sewing lessons for bras are great! Thanks a lot for this inspiring page, Jana, Tabor, the Czech rep. |
Hi Jessica, I am from Melbourne, Australia. Thank you so much for all the work you have put into this website... It is exactly what I have been looking for and have been inspired over and over. I even started another 'project' so that I could plunge myself into another of your patterns. I have relatives in Texel and my father was born in Friesland, Donkerbroek. They came out to Australia after the war. I, like
you, have a dreadful addiction to knitting and crochet. My wool stash is substantial and my husband is frequently informed that I am contributing the house insulation and really I am doing a service....not such huge electricity bills etc!!! |
Hello dear Jessica, what wonderful work you have done here. For me as a beginner in crocheting and knitting and others you site is like my best friend. Always here when i need him and know all i "ask". I hope you will continue your work. Take care Neda from Bosnia and Herzegovina |
|
hello from Australia. What a wonderful site. I will be coming back over and over again to scour your patterns and hints. Thank you . Terry... Sth Aust. |
Thank you so much for all the work you have done to make all of this available to everyone! Had I known you were building this masterpiece, I would have left my user name for you! Jan Vancouver, Washington, USA |
Hi Jessica, I stumbled upon your site quite by accident and I am overwhelmed and exited to have found it!! I was looking for a good knitting pattern for men's socks (which I found) and I was so intrigued by all you have to offer that I will tell my daughters about it. I went to the Dutch Google, because I couldn't find a good pattern in English and looked at Dutch sites. At the moment I'm not even sure
where I got the pattern but I was sorry that my daughters weren't able to read it. You have probably guessed already that I am originally Dutch but have been an Australian for the biggest part of my life. I arrived here as a young bride with my Dutch husband in 1960 and all my three children were born here. Two are girls of whom one in particularly is very involved in anything to do with yarns. Same as me; she
spins, knits, crochets and sews at a pinch. I am particularly happy about the fact that your site is also in English and both girls will be able to follow it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! All the very best, Rita Bekker PS I could have written this in Dutch, but somehow can express myself in more glowing terms in English. |
Thank you for creating such a wealth of interesting patterns for everyone to use. One of the best craft and needlework sites I have visited. Great stuff Kim LUnn |

Hello Jessica. Thank you so much for this site I was browsing for a knitting pattern for Winnie the Pooh when I hit your marvelous site. How on Earth do you get time for this overwhelming work???? I'm very thankful for the size charts. Love from Elisabeth, Aarhus, Denmark |
Ciao Jessica!
I haven't enough words to thank you for the GREAT and complete work you
have done on the website!!! BRAVA! I'm using the crochet webpage. Its
stunning!!! Full of EVERYTHING ... and even more!!! I'm making myself a
jacket and as soon as I'll get it done I'll send you a picture. Again
thank you soo much for sharing Ciao. Morena from Venice Italy |
Hi Jessica,
What wonderful work you have done. You provide so much information, its
had to believe people like you still exist. Aisha London |
Hi Jessica,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for your web-site. I already made
a kid sweater and a sweater for myself using charts from your site and I
came back to find a chart for a vest I'm making for a friend.
Again, thank you very much! I attached pictures of my projects for you
to see.
I'm a Ukrainian, but I've lived in the United States for 5 years now.
So, my address is Ferndale, WA USA.
Love your site, Sincerely, Oksana |
Hello Jessica, I used to knit many years ago, in fact I worked in a
knitting shop for several years. During that time, I collected a huge
stash of yarn - both hand and machine knitting. But other things in my
life took over and the wool and the machine have remained in the
cupboards for many years until quite recently when I retired. Now I have
small grandchildren I was determined to start again, but was daunted
because I had wool and no patterns which matched. Your site is just such
an inspiration to get out that wool and adapt your charts to the yarn. I
have already started.
You have put such a lot of hard work into the website and the patterns
and it is so lovely to have it all for FREE. You are a star! Di |
Hi Jessica,
Thank you for this wonderful site. I was looking for doll clothing
patterns. So many people in my country have lost their homes and are in
shelters, and I want to make some things to give to the children. Not
only did I find the patterns, but you gave a gift to everyone – the gift
of remembrance. It was so moving to read about how you and your
countrymen observe Remembrance Day and Liberation Day. Thank you for
reminding us that we must look out for each other. Linda |
|
Are you for real? I can’t believe anyone could be so generous with her
knowledge and honestly share it with the world. Thank you very much – in
the future, I will look you up every time I get detained by a knitting
doubt or difficulty. Dora (from Lima, Peru) |
Hi, Jessica,
I actually don't have questions, just deep appreciation and awe in
everything that you offer on your website. I'm an advanced knitter --
but not like you! We were born in the same year, 1954, and that makes me
feel especially connected to you. I have spent most of my adult like in
Seattle, Washington, in the United States, so water and nature are also
common elements between us. I have been knitting since I was five years
old and do a combination of others' designs and my own, and your website
has provided enough inspiration for six lifetimes, if not more.
Thank you for creating such a rich, inspiring resource and sharing so
much of yourself with others. It is especially nice that you included
information about yourself, your family, and the things that are
important to you outside of your knitting and crocheting. Sincerely,
Diane |
Hello Jessica,
I accidently found your site and was amazed that there is another person
kind of like me with many diverse interests! I live in California,
graduated with Tailor diploma from Saint Petersburg Russia in 1992 and
studied Computer Science here in CA! I am a professional bookkeeper and
a web developer, but at home I enjoy knitting, sewing and programming. I
found it amazing that you mastered bra-making. I was trying to refresh
my memory (in a past I was working as a seamstress making bras for
England) when I found your tutorial-the only one so far! Thank you so
much for sharing! Here in USA it is very hard to find good classes,
everything is almost simple and I love everything advanced! It is
expensive as well. I am definitely bookmarking you site! Thank again,
Marina N. |
Thank you so much for the free use of your website! You have some
amazing designs on there. I'm sending you a picture of a headband that I
made for my 9 year old daughter using a chart from your website. I used
the fair isle norse 81 chart. I'm calling it the Winter Blues Headband.
Thank you! Thank you! Rebecca, Illinois, USA
 |
Jessica,
I just love your website!! I have been looking for a nice Nordic design
to knit in a blue and white sweater (for myself) and you have some many
good designs and charts. Although I have not worked from charts too
terribly much, some of the simpler snowflake patterns are within my
level of experience. I still have my mother's beautiful Nordic heavy
wool cardigan sweater she bought while we were visiting Oslo in the early
1960's. My husband and I have a couple of Dale of Norway sweaters we
purchased in Quebec City, Canada while visiting there in 2001.
I have two adorable grandsons for whom I have knitted many things.
Unfortunately, they live in Charleston, South Carolina, where is so warm
much of the year. I am now resigned to knitting them mostly cotton beach
tops and cardigans.
Keep up the amazing work on your site. You have some of the best and
helpful information I have seen in a long time. I noticed that one of
your advertisers is KnitPicks. I have a set of their beautiful circular
colored birch needles (a gift from my husband for Christmas) and am
finishing up a textured vest in black wool on them right now.

|
hallo, I don't often do this, but I
was very ecstatic to find your website. I just came back from Iceland
with a bag full of Icelandic wool and wanted a basic Nordic pattern to
put into the scarf and beanie I'll make with it - but despite being
traditional designs I just couldn't find any anywhere, until I came
across your site. Thanks, and well done. It's a little hard to navigate
around though, a bit of tidying and website design would make it great.
Cheers Kaz. |
Dear Jessica,
I have no questions for you, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing
all this information with us. I really, really think it is amazing.
There are people asking for hundreds of pounds just for one book (and
you know I'm not lying!!!), and I was amazed to find all this for free.
I love your pictures, too! You are an amazing woman, keep up the good
work and thank you SO much. With love, Carlo |
|
I just wanted to say that your work
is beautiful and you have a lovely family! I live in the US and have
recently taught myself how to knit. I am a 24 year old mother and I hope
to pass this craft on to my daughter. Thank you for your time and
efforts of keeping this craft alive! Cassandra Seals |
Jessica;
I don't have a question. I am writing to compliment you on having
designed the most complete website internationally filled with an
incredible wealth of information. Thank you for having given of yourself
so freely over the past four years and continuing to invest your
personal finances and resources to maintain this website to the 'free'
benefit of knitters around the globe. In sincere appreciation, Angie

Hi
Merry Christmas
I just wanted to thank you for your free dog patterns as I have had such
a hard job trying to find just what I have seen on your site thank you

hi Jessica,
no questions from me, only a big big even bigger thank you. You are one
amazing woman, thank you very much for your website, I have spent time
now looking at it and I will dig more into it this evening and I will

Hi, Jessica! I love your website.
Thank you so much for all the hard work you have done! I really
appreciate it and I visit it often. I am now designing a vest with aran
stitches, some of them are from this site. I live in Columbus, Ohio,
USA, and I have been knitting for 45 years. My daughter, who is 34, is
also a knitter. She is actually a better knitter than I am! So much
yarn, so little time. Kathi |
Hi Jessica,
Thank you so much for inspiration and all the patterns, and creative
spirit!
Thanks for the birth of couple-triple new ideas for
knitting-crochet-mix-all-together projects while browsing your site! Oh,
and also a swim suite or two, for myself and for my daughter. And some
presents for friends and family. Thanks a lot, I'm really glad to meet
you and your creativity. -- Irena. |
Dear Jessica,
yours is far the best site for people who like everything to do with
fibers.
I thank you for all the countless hours you've spent for sharing your
treasures with us throughout the world :-* Marion from Brixen, South
Tyrol, Dolomites |
Jessica,
A friend recommended me your site, and I am glad she did! Your site is
wonderful, and you sound wonderful too. If you happen to come to
Malaysia, please let me know. I'd be happy to help you visit places in
Kuala Lumpur. Oh, by the way, I am from Malaysia!

Dearest Jessica - How wonderful to
meet you. I am 50 years old and just began knitting a few months ago -
and I'm totally hooked. I have a new friend. She is 77 years old and has
been knitting for 70 years. Her sweaters are so beautiful. I will never
be as good as she (or you) but I absolutely love knitting. Why didn't
someone teach me earlier in life? Your website is fabulous. So helpful
and I feel like you are an old friend. Lovely to see your family and
dogs - even the massive carp. (How thoughtful for you to add the
information about the American cemetery. It is such a lovely tribute.) I
too believe that children grow up too fast. When my oldest son was 12, I
began to take foster children (I could hear how quiet my home was when
he was gone) and have adopted 4 of the 10 children who lived in my home.
Now, the mother of 5 - I am beginning to knit them sweaters. I am going
to try some of your lovely patterns. Thank you so much for all the work
that you have put into this site. (I have a childhood friend from a
Dutch father - van den Ende.) Wishing you the best - Ann Harlan

Jessica,
I just learned to knit with more than one color at a time thanks to your
webpage. It is incredible! Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful
ideas and your findings.
I should remember to take pics and send some to you before I give all my
knitting projects away !
Thank you, Sybil Koning Minneapolis Minnesota USA |
Hello, Ms. Jessica!
Simply wanted to say "Thank You" for all the work you've done putting up
the charts and information on your website. I've just spent the last
hour looking through and saving some of them for the future and am awed
at the selection. I can't begin to express how thankful I am to
have all of these gorgeous and inspiring patterns in one place! So THANK
YOU, again. =) Cammila U.S. |
Hallo Jessica,
Your side is shaped very versatile and fantastic. I found your website
when I started to look for "BRA making lingerie 1-5". It is very nice
and I can learn much of you. With the BRA sews I just now start and is
grateful for each help. I will pure-look myself at your side still often
whether there is something new again. Maybe also, in order to get me a
tip again. About me: I was born in 1950 in Germany. My hobbies are sews,
clappers and all other handicrafts. I am only housewife meanwhile and
now have more time for my hobbies. I invite you gladly also on my
Website ( http://www.bastelhexe.de ). There, you can look at yourself
what I have done so far. Excuse me, I have written the text with a
translation program. I myself speak unfortunately only a little English.
But I am to be studied the language with it . I wish you even many good
ideas. Best regards Barbara |
Hello Jessica,
I found your spectacular site while looking for a Star of David knitting
graph. I didn't find it - but I haven't left your site for 2 days. What
a wealth of ideas and creativity. I look at my shelves of beautiful
books and magazines and feel sorry for them because I don't think I'll
be poring over them for a while. The crochet motifs and free form blouse
are demanding first attention. If I can drag myself away from my PC I'll
explore my wonderful yarns and threads and play with some triangular
"grannies" Thank you so much for sharing these fabulous gems of
needlework. I will certainly come back with pictures of some creations.
May I credit you by name if I use several of your ideas in my web-store?
(I'm currently making miniature sweaters for the holidays) And your sons
are very very handsome. We have 1 son and 2 daughters - all perfect in
every way. They're about your sons' ages and sadly you are right - they
grow much too fast. I wish they were small again for just one hour so I
can rock them in my lap. Thank you again for sharing ~ ~ ~ ~ Linda Webb

Hi Jessica,
No questions, just a big thank you. I discovered your website through a
link from another knitting website. I'm especially excited to see all
the free fair isle motifs you offer. Your website is obviously a labor
of love and a great deal of work. I just wanted to thank you very much.
I've just started thinking about trying to create my own fair isle
designs and to use them for knitting hats (a good place to start, I
think) but didn't have any idea about how to go about that so I did a
Google search and ended up at your website. It's very encouraging to
look over all the ideas you offer. I was taught to knit as a little girl
by my grandmothers and have dabbled in it on and off over the years (I
am now 54yrs. old). Finally about 4 or 5 years ago I started again and
don't expect to put my needles down anytime soon. I don't knit as much
as I would like so am not as advanced in my skills as I would like but
am working on that slowly but surely. I am quite creative and would love
to design some things of my own. Your website is a great inspiration for
that. Also, just a little side note. I would like to also compliment you
on you superb English language skills.
Thank you again, Debbie |
What an absolute treasure of
information you have! I could spend all day just looking through the
many, many patterns/tips/ideas for both hand knitting and machine. Your
site truly gives me innovation, I now have so many ideas to try out.
Thank you for all the obvious hard work you have put into it.

Dear Jessica,
Thank you, thank you for such an incredible web site, your work and
dedication is truly commendable. I came upon your site and was so amazed
at how much of yourself you have put into it. I have been searching for
Norwegian charts so that I can knit traditional sweaters etc. for my son
Torin, and you are the answer to my prayers.. I will take pictures of
the beautiful items I can now knit for my son, without you it would have
cost me a fortune. Thank you so much for your dedication, it is greatly
appreciated!

I love you for sharing your
knowledge. You have a great talent. You have such a free giving heart to
share all your patterns with the world. I can't wait to attempt to make
my own bra. My name is Donna and I live in Ponchatoula, Louisiana
(southeastern part of Louisiana). So nice to meet you. Take care, Donna

Hi Jessica,
Thank you again so very much for the pattern and your lovely site! I
have requested some yarn from my knitting group, (which meets tonight),
to begin making sweaters. I'm hoping when others see how nice the
pattern is and how quickly it knits up, they will want to try it, too. I
don't have a digital camera, but may be able to find someone who does.
If not, I can take a regular picture and then use my scanner. Thanks
again! Jill Greenawalt |

Hello Jessica! I have just finished a
cloth doll making workshop and was searching the net for patterns for
clothes. I want her to look like Alice in Wonderland. That is how I came
upon your site. I also found a wonderful pattern that will be ideal for
my doll. I just wanted to say "thank you!" for the effort you have put
into your site! Take care, Janice from Burnaby, Canada (I am now going
back to look at the knitting patterns. . . )!

Your website is wonderful! I'm an
addicted knitter too, and your site is inspirational. I could linger
here for days! Marianne (ex-Scotland), USA |
Hello,
My name is Pattie Jansen and I have been on your site for quite a while
tonight and a whole new world has opened up for me. I live in a small
town outside Houston, Texas,( USA) named Tomball, Texas.
I'm totally in love with crocheting and knitting and enjoy working on
projects. At one time, I had a small business selling my own sewn doll
clothes and furniture for 11 1/2 inch and 18 inch dolls.
By trade, I am a nurse but recently required emergency surgery and on
the mend for another 2-3 weeks.
This brings me to the computer tonight. My husband and son are out for
the evening and I am able to read your site without interruption. This
has been an honor and delight to allow me to say that you definitely
have a gift to organize your site and has been so easy to read and
navigate. Thank you for your time and patience and I bid you a good day.
Sincerely, Pattie Jansen |
I love your site!
I was just looking around for some knitting charts, and what an amazing
stash of them you've made here! I'm a new knitter, so this stuff is
invaluable.
I also loved all your personal stories and historical information,
especially about Remembrance & Liberation days. Thank you so much for
all your hard work! <3 Jenny |
Dear Jessica,
I just found your site and I wanted to say thank you (Dank U Wel) for
all the work and organization you put into this. I have already made one
of the flower pattern and found your pictures and directions wonderful.
I also want to thank you for sharing your wonderful life—your family,
your garden, your dogs, your trips, and the Dutch Holidays of
Remembrance. We are about the same age and I was privileged to be in The
Netherlands during May and June of 1976. I still remember how powerful
the overwhelming experience of walking out of the train station in
downtown Rotterdam and realizing the attack of the Germans on civilians.
Thank you for your site, your willingness to share your life and joys.
Sincerely, Linda O’Dell

Hi Jessica
I'm so glad I found your site, it's got so much on it. I've been
knitting about three years and my mum and I love to make clothes for my
two year old twins. I'm sure I'll spend many happy hours on your
wonderful site! Katy, Wellington New Zealand |
Your website is the best I have ever
seen. I have been machine knitting and hand knitting for over 25 years,
and love your website. You are very Talented and Have the Best website I
have ever seen.
It is a pleasure to meet you on line, Sincerely, Cindy |
|
Your website was a joy and rush at
the same time. I love the free form crochet instructions and guidance.
It's more for me than following established patterns of someone else's
work. Although I do love and appreciate work created by others, I just
like creating some of my own pieces. It is all relevant. I love your
work, thanks for the pictures of you and family and homeland. I'm
grateful to be able to receive your creative gifts. Thank you. Neva M.

Thank you so much for your website.
This is one of the few sites that REALLY has free patterns! Rosie |
Dear Jessica,
Thank you for your wonderful web site! I am 60 years old, have knitted
for 45 years, and now my daughter Lori who is 35 knits too. She is
actually a better knitter than I am! She knits for her 5 year old twins,
and a new baby. I knit for them also, so they will never be without warm
knitted clothes! I tell other knitters about your site, also. Again,
many thanks! Kathi from Ohio, USA |
Dear Jessica:
I came across your website searching just for places in the Netherlands
to find a good selection of yarn. What I found instead was a treasure!
I’m an American, married 3 years ago to a Dutch guy, and living in
Rotterdam. Although I’m fully ingeburgerd, I still miss terribly my
little local handcraft shops back in the States. But in your site I have
found so many resources in terms of patterns, ideas, tips and tutorials
that it doesn’t feel quite as lonely here! I just wanted to write and
thank you for all the hard work and your obvious love of yarn arts.
Also, I was moved that you include information over Herdenkingsdag (en 5
mei). That, to me, is one of the very best aspects of the Netherlands.
Those two minutes make me very proud to be (almost) Dutch.
I also want to thank you for making your site in both Dutch & English.
Although I have a good command of Dutch language, we didn’t learn any
crafting terms in my inburgeringscursus! So I’m improving my knitting,
crocheting AND Dutch skills all from you, as I go!
You truly have been a blessing to me. Thank you again,
Met vriendelijke groetjes, Corien Woudenberg |

Absolutely not another question, but
rather a huge THANK YOU for doing what none of us seem to have the time
to do. You've created a wealth of information, an absolute museum of
knitting information. I am sure this is where I will spend every moment
I am not knitting. I will spend each of those moments thinking of you
and all the hard work that has gone into this. What a MAGNIFICENT
treasure trove of knowledge. Enjoy your day. Ruth |

Hi Jessica, I found a link to your
web site on a crochet forum that I visit and the information about
joining motifs is very useful. I might finally be able to finish the
project that I started. Keep up the good work, Lisa |

Hi, I found your site on the internet
and just love, love, love it. I am an avid crafty person who knits,
crochets, quilts, sews, jewelry making, soaps, etc, etc. you name it, I
can make it. I permanently bookmarked your site!!!!! By the way I live

Hi,
Wanted to say a big "Thank-you!" for all your hard work. Love your
patterns!
I have used Tigger and Dora designs in blankets for my grandchildren.
Grazie, merci, danke! Ramona a Swiss from CA-USA |
Dear Jessica,
I love your site. I enjoy crocheting, free-form and some knitting. It is
hot here so can't always use wool. I am now learning tatting so that is
a challenge. Kindest regards Carolynn. |
Dear Jessica,
You must be a wonderful lady to devote so much time to your website, the
patterns and your offers to help others. I love your website. I was
searching for knitting patterns for the little Bleuette dolls – 10 5/8
inches – 27 cm. Are you familiar with Bleuette? She has a child’s body
with a bit of a tummy. My Bleuette dolls are reproductions – the price
of a real antique Bleuette is just too high. I have some nice antique
dolls too. If you collect antique dolls you must know about these little
Bleuette dolls. I would dearly love to be able to knit some sweaters,
hats/cap and coats or dresses for my Bleuette dolls in sock weight or
other fine weight yarns for scale, but there are precious few patterns
available. I love working on small bamboo needles. We live in Arizona in
the U.S. But we come from England – so mother has taught me how to knit
since I was very small. Regards, Pam, Pamela Hand
