With knitting in the round the stitches are knitted in the round as nothing but knit stitches.
This is a great way to Norwegian or Fair Isle patterns.
Norwegian or Fair Isle knitting, lends itself beautifully to circular knitting, a favorite way of knitting for many knitters,
much lesser mistakes are made !

knitting in the round has two main advantages:
no seams
are needed to make up the garment after knitting,
and it allows the knitter to create a smooth and even stocking stitch.
Perfect for sweaters, cardigans and socks, they all can be knitted in the round.

Tips for my basic knitting patterns

1 First you knit your knitting swatch, if you want to knit in a cable stitch pattern, knit your swatch with 1 or more cables,
2 then determine your gauge, now you can choose a knitting pattern with the right gauge, this way it will always fit,
3 no need for special yarns or needles size, you decide which yarn you use and which gauge you use, so easy.

The length and quality of the fiber in a knitting yarn determines its texture, luster, strength and hand.
Knitting yarn made from long fibers will pill less, be smoother, stronger, more lustrous and more elastic.
Knitting Yarns containing a mixture of fiber lengths are softer, fuzzier and less strong.
Tightly twisted knitting yarns display the texture of a knitted pattern to its best advantage.

1. Mark the front so you know which part of the body it is.
2. Underarm stitches (four sets). Transfer 12 stitches to a holder, centred at each of the four 'seam' markers on the body and the
sleeves. These stitches will be left unknitted until the top shaping is complete, then sewn or grafted together to join the
body and sleeve at the armhole.
3. Hold (and temporarily pin) the sleeves beside the body (all right side out), with the underarm stitches and 'seams'
matching. With the right side facing, and starting where the back meets the left sleeve, pick up and knit stitches as
follows: 55 from the left sleeve, 104 from the front, 55 from the right sleeve and 104 from the back. Total 318 stitches.
At the same time, place a marker at the start of the round and one at the centre front. Reminder: do NOT knit the
underarm stitches.
