Body knit by hand on 3 mm needles

BACK:
1. Use an open (looped) cast on with 44 stitches on size 3 needles.
2. knit 14 rows.
3. Mark this row at both ends for armhole.
4. knit even for 2,6 ins more (38 rows total).
5. Back neck. Cast off 10 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows. Place remaining 24 stitches on holder.
SKIRT BACK:
1. Right side of knit facing. Holding the dress piece upside down, use size 3 needles to pick up 44 stitches
from open edge cast-on. knit lace holes at waistline as follows: K2 *(YF K2Tog K1)*, repeat to end. Purl 1 row.
2. knit 2 rows. Inc 1 st at each end of next row, then every following 4th row 10 times to 66sts. knit even until skirt measures 4,9 ins (46 rows total).
3. Hem. knit next 0,4 ins (4 rows) in garter stitch or pattern stitch of choice. Cast off loosely.
FRONT:
1-2 Follow steps 1 and 2 as for back.

Armhole. Mark this row at both ends for armhole. Continue until armhole measures 1,5 ins (14 rows).
4. Shape neck. knit both sides at the same time. knit 17 stitches. Slip the next 10 stitches to a holder. With a second ball of yarn, knit remaining 17 stitches. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 7 times, until 10 stitches remain.
5. knit even until armhole measures 2,6 ins (24 rows). Cast off 10 shoulder stitches loosely.
SKIRT FRONT: as for skirt back.
SLEEVES:
1. Cast on 26 stitches on size 2 needles. knit in K1P1 ribbing for 0,6 ins.
2. Change to size 3 needles and Stocking Stitch.
3. Inc 1 st at each end of every 6th row 5 times to 36 stitches (30 rows total, excluding hem).
4. knit even until sleeve measures 3,7 ins (36 rows), excluding hem.
5. Cast off loosely.
LEFT SHOULDER SEAM:
1. Sew front to back along left shoulder seam.
NECKBAND:

1. With right side of knit facing, pick up and knit 24 stitches from back neck holder, 10 stitches from left front neck edge, 10 stitches from front neck holder, and 10 stitches from right front neck edge. Total 54 stitches.
2. knit 0,3 ins (4 rows) in K1P1 ribbing. Cast off loosely in ribbing.
FINISHING:
1. DRESS CORD. Make a cord approx 0,0 ins long for the waist. Some suggestions are: crochet chain st,
braids, I-cord. A contrast colour might look good here.
2. Sew right shoulder seam as for left. Sew sleeves to body along armhole. Sew side and sleeve seams using invisible seam. Sew remaining seams.
3. Sew in all loose ends.
