Forget-Me-Not Doily

This doily is taken from Star Book No. 64 called Flower Doilies, published in 1949 by American
Thread Co.
**Not a beginner's doily--but not that hard, either**

NOTE: Solid color may be used if desired.

Round 1: With White ch 8, join to form ring, ch 1 and work 12 sc in ring, join.
Round 2: Ch 5, dc in next sc, * ch 2, dc in next sc, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of
ch.
Round 3: Ch 1 and work 3 sc over each loop, join.
Round 4: * Ch 6, sc in space over the dc of previous row, repeat from * all around ending row with
ch 3, trc in same space as beginning (this brings thread in position for next row).
Round 5: * Ch 6, sc in next loop, repeat from * all around.
Round 6: Sl st into loop, ch 1 and work 3 sc in same space, * ch 6, 3 sc in next loop, repeat from *
all around, ending row with ch 2, dtr in the sl st.
Round 7: Ch 3, 2 dc in same loop, * ch 3, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 3, 3 dc in next loop, repeat
from * all around ending row with ch 3, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 3, join.
Round 8: Ch 3, dc in same space, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * ch 3, dc in next single dc, ch
3, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * all around ending row with ch 3,
dc in next single dc, ch 3, join.
Rnds 9 and 10: Same as last row but having 2 more dc in each solid section of each rnd.
Round 11: Sl st to next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of the next 6 dc, * ch 3, dc in next loop, ch 3, dc in
next loop, ch 3, 1 dc in each of the center 7 dc of next dc group, repeat from * all around ending
row with ch 3, dc in next loop, ch 3, dc in next loop, ch 3, join.
Round 12: Sl st to next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc, * ch 3, dc in next loop,ch 3, dc in
next loop, ch 3, dc in next loop, ch 3, 1 dc in each of the center 5 dc of next dc group, repeat
from * all around ending row to correspond, ch 3, join.
Round 13: Sl st to next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, * ch 3, dc in next loop, ch 3, dc in
next loop, ch 3, dc in next loop, ch 3, dc in next loop, ch 3, 1 dc in each of the 3 center dc of
next dc group, repeat from * all around ending row to correspond, ch 3, join.
Round 14: Sl st to next dc, ch 6, dc in next loop, * ch 3, dc in next loop, repeat from * 3 times, **
ch 3, dc in centerdc of next dc group, * ch 3, dc in next loop, repeat from * 4 times, repeat from
** all around ending row to correspond, ch 3, join in 3rd st of ch.
Round 15: Ch 1 and work 4 sc over each loop, join.
Round 16: * Ch 6, sc in space over the next dc of previous row, repeat from * all around ending
row with ch 3, dc in same space as beginning.
Round 17: * Ch 6, sc in next loop, repeat from * all around ending row with ch 3, dc in dc.
Round 18: Same as last row but ending row with ch 6, sc in dc.
Round 19: Ch 1 and work 5 sc over each loop, join, fasten off.

FLOWER: With Yellow, ch 6, join to form ring, * ch 4, sc in ring, repeat from * 5 times (6
loops). Fasten off Yellow. Attach Shaded Blues in loop, ch 4, 2 trc in same loop, ch 1 and with
wrong side of doily toward you, sl st in center st of any scallop of doily, ch 1, turn, sl st in same
trc of flower, 1 trc in same loop of flower, ch 4, sl st in same loop of flower, sl st in next loop of
center of flower, ch 4, 2 trc in same space, ch 1, sl st in center st of next scallop of doily, ch 1,
turn, sl st in top of same trc of flower, 1 trc in same loop of flower, ch 4, sl st in same loop of
flower, * sl st in next loop of center of flower, ch 4, 3 trc in same space, ch 4, sl st in same
space, repeat from * 3 times, join (6 petals, fasten off Blue. Work a 2nd flower joining side
petal to side petal of 1st flower, skip 1 scallop on doily and join next 2 petals to next 2 scallops
of doily. Work 22 more flowers in same manner joining same as previous flowers and having 2
petals free on top of each flower joining last flower to first flower at side petal.
2nd Row of Flowers: Work center same as 1st row of flowers.

Attach Shaded Blues in loop,
ch 4, 3 trc in same space, ch 4, sl st in same space, sl st in next loop of center, ch 4, 2 trc in
same space, ch 1 and with wrong side of doily toward you, sl st in 2nd free petal of any flower,
ch 1, turn, sl st in top of trc just made, trc in same loop of center, ch 4, sl st in same space, sl st
in next loop, ch 4, 2 trc in sme loops, ch 1, sl st in 1st free petal of next flower, ch 1, turn, sl st in
top of trc just made, trc in same loop of center, ch 4, sl st in same space, then complete
remaining 3 petals same as other flowers.

2nd Flower: work center same as 1st flower. Attach Shaded Blues in loop, ch 4, 2 trc in same
space, ch 3, sl st in center st of side petal of previous flower, ch 3, turn, sl st in top of trc just
made, trc in same space, ch 4, sl st in same space, sl st in next loop of center and join next 2
petals to previous row of flowers same as first flower, then complete remaining petals of flower
same as first flower. Work 22 more flowers and join same as 2nd flower joining the side petal
of last flower made to side petal of first flower.
