Knitting yarns;
The packaging of your yarn has some vital information listed on it which is known as the dye lot.
This indicates when and where the yarn was dyed. Different lots can have what appear to be nominally
different shades, but by the time you finish a project you will realize you have four different shades of green.
It is important to buy all of the yarn you need for a project at one time and check the yarn has the same color codes
You have to unwind and ball the yarn, but it also means that you can work in a smaller, more manageable space.

- Hank: Twist it into a smaller bunch for easier packaging. Hanks have to be untwisted and rewound into a ball
when you want to work with them.

- Cone: Huge projects can become more affordable by using cones. Commercial manufacturers use this format
when they want to sell over a pound of yarn at a time, but the price per pound is often much less than if you
bought the same quantity as a skein.

How to read the knitting charts ?. Knitting charts are visual patterns.

The design behind baby boy clothes and baby girl clothes changed dramatically in the twentieth century
as European and American attitudes towards childhood changed.

Until the 19th century children’s clothing was a miniature version of that worn by adults with all the
restrictions of adult clothes. In those days childhood lasted for a very short time, especially for the
poorer classes, as many children often started work at a very young age.

In those days childhood was just a brief period before becoming an adult. So the need for play was
not recognized and children’s clothes made no allowance for it.

By the time they got to toddler age both boys and girls were clothed in copies of Mom’s dress.
Also clothes were washed not as often as we do now, and had dark colors, so that dirt and stains were
not as noticeable. The upper classes were able to afford more colorful and elaborate clothes.

At the end of the 19th century the fashion of dressing girls and boys alike until the age of 4 or 5 was beginning
to change. This was the time of the introduction of the romper suit. This one piece suit ( original from France )
revolutionized baby boy clothes. baby romper photo museum Victoria.

But now in the 21st century, romper suits have lost there popularity. In what is almost a repeat to earlier fashions,
baby boy clothes and children’s clothes have once again become smaller versions of what their parents wear,
although a wide range of colors are now available.
But there are also parents who don't want their baby to be a miniature adult because they grow up fast enough
anyway and so they want them to look like a baby for that short time. It is what you prefer.
