Children’s clothing
Standard European children’s clothing sizes are in centimetres
length/height.
56 cm (= newborn to 2 months old), 62 cm (2–4 months), 68 cm (4–6
months), 74 cm (6–9 months),
80 cm (9–12 months), 90 cm (2 years), use a
measuring tape and the child’s length to select sizes.

The total length
of the garment can be too short, children have different sizes.
Knit until desired length. The difference can be between 2 cms and 5 cms
for each size.
Always measure when you are knitting the length between wrist and armhole
for the sleeves and
between hem and armhole for total length.
Don't forget to add 5 - 10 stitches for the sleeve too, in this case.
|
|
Use
the easy conversion chart on the navigation bar at the left, if you want
to use inches instead of cms |
BODY SIZES:
Use chest size as the key for all its ‘standard’ size data. Body sizes vary
greatly in shape and it is always
best to use custom sizes if you can, the
size data files on the left, may help you determine what size to use. |

Knitting supplies can be found anywhere on the internet.
There are a lot of online craft and yarn stores, where you can buy
online, all the things you need for your craft projects. If you make a
list of the items you need and google for sale, or discount, for
instance, there will be lots of stores to choose from.
Perhaps you need knitting needles, or circular needles, bamboo
needles, anyway they can be found at a large range of sizes and prices.
Many websites have free shipping and/or the ability to receive discount
emails, when they have a sale.
Ask your elderly family members, if they have some yarns they
don't use anymore.
Perhaps they have wonderful treasures somewhere in the attic or in the
garage, waiting for better days.
The early bird catches the worm, so go on Saturday morning, out for
garage or yard sales.
Big change you are going to find good bargains for knitting supplies;
needles, books or yarns.
This is how I bought all my knitting needles and books, for very
reasonable prices. |

One of the finest fabric to knit children's clothes is cotton yarn. No other natural material is quite like cotton. Cotton has superior absorbency and even charges of static electricity do not build up in cotton. Cotton outsells all other man made fibers combined. |
