Tips for my basic knitting patterns |

1 First you knit your knitting swatch, if you want to knit in a fantasy pattern, knit your swatch in this stitch,
2 then determine your gauge, now you can choose a knitting pattern with the right gauge, this way it will always fit, 3 no need for special yarns or needles size, you decide which yarn you use and which gauge you use, so easy. Mark this row at both ends for armhole. Continue until armhole measures 12,0 cms (36 rows), 4. Shape neck. knit both sides at the same time. knit 20 stitches. Slip the next 23 stitches to a holder. Now attach another ball of yarn and continue across second half of stitches, and knit remaining 20 stitches. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 3 times, until 17 stitches remain. 5. knit even until armhole measures 13,3 cms (40 rows). Cast off 17 shoulder stitches loosely. FRONT: 1-2 Follow steps 1 and 2 as for back. 3. Armhole. Mark this row at both ends for armhole. Continue until armhole measures 2,7 cms (8 rows). 4. Shape neck. knit both sides at the same time. knit 29 stitches. Cast off next 5 stitches. knit remaining 29 stitches. knit 22 rows (7,0 cms) even at center for keyhole opening. Next row: for bottom of neckline, slip the first 6 stitches at neck edge to a holder. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 6 times, until 17 stitches remain. 5. knit even until armhole measures 13,3 cms (40 rows). Cast off 17 shoulder stitches loosely. SLEEVES: 1. Cast on 33 stitches on size 2 needles. knit in K1P1 ribbing for 3,0 cms. Inc 4 stitches evenly across the row to 37 stitches total. 2. Change to size 3 needles and Stocking Stitch. 3. Inc 1 st at each end of every 4th row 7 times, then every 5th row 4 times to 59 stitches (48 rows total, excluding hem). 4. knit even until sleeve measures 17,0 cms (52 rows), excluding hem. 5. Cast off loosely. SHOULDER SEAMS: 1. Sew fronts to back along shoulder seams. SINGLE BAND COLLAR: --- by hand on size 2 needles. 1. With right side of knit facing, pick up and knit 6 stitches from right front neck holder, 9 stitches from right front neck edge, 3 stitches from right back neck edge, 23 stitches from back neck holder, 3 stitches from left back neck edge, 9 stitches from left front neck edge, and 6 stitches from left front neck holder. Total 59 stitches. 2. knit 2,0 cms (8 rows) in K1P1 ribbing. 3. Cast off loosely. BUTTON BAND: 1. Start with left front for girls/women, right front for boys/men. Using size 2 needles pick up and knit 24 stitches (approximately 6 stitches for each 7 rows along keyhole edge) between bottom of keyhole and top of collar band. 2. knit in 1x1 ribbing for 8 rows. Cast off loosely. 3. Mark positions for 3 buttons, the first one 0,9 cms above the band bottom, the last one 0,9 cms below the band top. The rest should be evenly spaced between these two, approximately 2,6 cms apart. BUTTONHOLE BAND: 1. knit buttonhole band as for button band, knitting buttonholes at the marked positions. 2. Sew buttons at marked positions on the button band, being careful to align buttons with buttonholes. FINISHING: 1. Sew sleeve top to armhole, easing to fit. Sew side and sleeve seams using invisible seam. Sew any remaining seams. 2. Overlap and sew bottom of button bands to bottom of keyhole. 3. Darn/weave/sew in all loose ends. Inc 1 st at each end of every 4th row 6 times, then every 5th row 6 times to 63 stitches (54 rows total, excluding hem). 4. knit even until sleeve measures 19,0 cms (58 rows), excluding hem. 5. Cast off loosely. SHOULDER SEAMS: 1. Sew fronts to back along shoulder seams. SINGLE BAND COLLAR: --- by hand on size 2 needles. 1. With right side of knit facing, pick up and knit 6 stitches from right front neck holder, 9 stitches from right front neck edge, 3 stitches from right back neck edge, 25 stitches from back neck holder, 3 stitches from left back neck edge, 9 stitches from left front neck edge, and 6 stitches from left front neck holder. Total 61 stitches. 2. knit 2,0 cms (8 rows) in K1P1 ribbing. 3. Cast off loosely. BUTTON BAND: 1. Start with left front for girls/women, right front for boys/men.
