The Brioche stitch is a very old knit stitch, and great for knitting shawls and hats.
Fun to knit with 2 or 3 colors, the front and back of your knit work, look the same, most of the time.
This is why the brioche stitch is perfect to knit a shawl, scarves, afghans, hats or a collar for your sweater or cardigan.
There is a new book with 50 different brioche stitches, so you can practice with my brioche stitch page in advance.
You will love the fluffy look of this knit stitch.

I have created some of the most know brioche stitch and fishermens rib patterns with a great program called KnitVisualizer_button,
with the nice feature to create your own knit stitches, that is just what I need. So enjoy my old and new patterns, in text as well as symbols.

Why knit with Alpaca wool ?

Alpaca wool is the natural fiber from an alpaca, It is a soft, durable, luxurious and silky natural fiber.
Alpaca wool is 3 times stronger than lambs wool and 7 times warmer than lambs wool.
It does not prickle, and is naturally fire retardant! No toxic chemicals needed!

Most people who are sensitive to wool products find that they are not sensitive to Alpaca.
Alpaca doesn’t contain lanolin, which holds dust and microscopic allergens that create an allergy reaction to sheep's wool.

Alpaca is naturally water-repellent, it has a silky shine, and is 4 times stronger than Merino wool.
Huacaya, an alpaca that grows soft spongy fiber, has natural crimp, thus making a naturally elastic yarn well-suited for knitting.
Suri has far less crimp and thus is a better fit for woven goods.
