GAUGE 15 ST X 38 ROWS = 10 X 10 CM    OR 89 ST = 60 CMS AND 457 ROWS = 125 CMS

Cast on; 67 stitches = 45 stitches at right side of 0 ( you have to knit over 89 stitches total )

Knit another 71 rows 
At row 115 ; cast off at left side 37 stitches, for armhole ( loosely )
FRONT 1 ; 115 ROWS

At row 116 ; cast on at left side 37 stitches
At row 117; knit 71 rows
At row 187; cast off 1 stitch at left side, knit 6 rows ( for neckshaping )
At row 193; cast off 1 stitch at left side, knit 6 rows
At row 199; cast off 1 stitch at left side, knit 12 rows
At row 211; cast off 1 stitch at left side, knit 32 rows
At row 243; increase 1 stitch at left side, knit 12 rows
At row 255; increase 1 stitch at left side, knit 6 rows 
At row 261; increase 1 stitch at left side, knit 6 rows
At row 267; increase 1 stitch at left side, knit 1 row

At row 339; cast off at left side 37 stitches, for armhole ( loosely )
BACK 227 ROWS

At row 340; cast on at left side 37 stitches

At row 412; decrease at left side 1 stitch, every second row, 22 times
At row 456; there are 67 stitches left 
At row 457; cast off all stitches
FRONT 2 ; 115 ROWS

This is the front, the back and the second front of your cardigan, 
pick up stitches at the RIGHT side of the cardigan, ( hem ) 
skip every 3rd or 4th stitch, and knit by hand or machine, ribbing.
Close the shoulder seams and pick up stitches for neck ribbing, at the LEFT side, knit by hand or machine.

Knitted bottom up

If you want to knit the ribbing by machine, 
than you have to start over counting the rows again, when you begin knitting tuck stitches. 

Cast on 42 stitches and use Brother 270 tuck stitch 99
Increase every 9th row, 1 stitch at both sides
Increase until you have 76 stitches
At row 174 cast off all stitches

If you did not knit the ribbing on the machine, 
pick up the cast on stitches and knit ribbing by hand. 


Knit second sleeve

Sew sleeves in front and back.

Embroider if you want little flowers on the front. 



STANDARD MACHINE NOTES;
Machine: Any knitting machine and ribber 
Ribber = knitting machine combined with the ribbing attachment 
( if you don't have a ribber, knit rib by hand, then transfer your knitting knit to the machine )

Set up for 1 x 1 rib.  (Instructions are for Brother 270 )
Rack the ribber 1 space to right to get needles in Zig-Zag position. Brother; (P3).  Important ; the right-and-left most 
outer stitch is on the Main bed . 
Thread yarn, knit 1 Zig-Zag row. T = 0 on Both dials.  Hang the comb, hang weights on the comb. 
Set to circular rows;  using the Part button on the K-carriage and the opposite Part button on the Ribber-carriage. 
Knit 2 or 3 circular rows. Cancel part buttons on Both carriages, set dials to ribber tension. Rib for required amount. 

Return pattern to row number required, same number for electronics,
For Brother - 
1. ; press Part-buttons, than; press Memory button. 
2. ; knit 1 row from right to left;   Needles are now selected. 
Continue knitting in pattern 
(DON'T forget to press MC-button if you where knitting Fair Isle.)       
OR   Press 1 row higher for punchcard machines.

First, pick your yarn and do a swatch, determine the right gauge, gauge is a matter of personal choice. 

The needle's position on the bed, together with the carriage settings, determines whether the stitch will knit, slip, tuck, 
or hold. 

COL   = carriage on left 
COR  = carriage on right
HP     = holding position. This is usually pos D or E, depending on brand of machine
LH   = left hand 
MY  = main yarn
RC000 = turn the row counter to 0 (zero) 	
TD  = tension dial 
WY =  waste yarn. 
Options; Knit several rows with waste yarn, then start knitting with Main yarn,   or remove with WY the knitting from 
the machine.
