Mercerization is a chemical process, and over time, mercerized cotton does lose its sheen.
Silk however does not lose its sheen, so perhaps you want to use silk embroidery thread, it is more expensive though.
For embroidery there are cotton, silk, wool, linen and rayon threads among others.
Google for embroidery thread or color chart, there is a lot out there.

Tip; combine several colors in the same color range, or color palette, or color family, to have a balanced color palette in your embroidery work.

U kunt DMC garen bestellen bij heel veel webshops, google gewoon, het aanbod is enorm. De prijs verschillen ook.
Ook voor een DMC borduurgaren kleurenkaart verwijs ik u naar het internet, ik verkoop nou eenmaal niets.
Het schijnt dat borduurzijde in de USA veel goedkoper is dan hier, maar je kan niet al te grote aantallen tegelijkertijd bestellen.

Tip; combineer verschillende strengen borduurgaren in dezelfde kleuren palet of familie, om een mooi passend geheel te krijgen.
